ASNU – The Story So Far.
For those who I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, may I please introduce myself. My name is Philip Ellisdon, and I am the proud owner of the ASNU business.

I would like to explain about how ASNU started, my involvement in the organisation and how I ended up owning the company.

Recognising the need. 2006
ASNU was developed back in the early Eighties by Alan Skovron, who at the time owned his own fuel injection workshop in Sydney and was regarded as one of the leading fuel injection specialists in Australia.

In the 1980’s, the Australian petrol engine vehicle market, percentage wise, had more fuel injected vehicles than most other major counties. With the fuel being of lead based production and by today’s standards, of poor quality, the petrol injector valves began to foul up and clog, restricting the fuel flow and causing poor fuel atomisation.

This poor injector performance affected the engines performance, so more and more companies started to produce chemical cleaning system, either fluid you add to the fuel in the tank or a pressure system that fitted into the fuel system. Alan had tried the various chemical cleaning systems, with differing results, but none able to return the injectors to 100% to their original condition.

Now we are a long way down the road and 2006 has seen the demand grow in many areas, Motorsport in particular has woken up to the advantages ASNU can offer. Marine and Motorcycle engineers have also seen the need for ASNU, Yamaha and Mercury are now using ASNU.

Finding the solution.
Faced with this problem, Alan experimented with cleaning injectors using ultrasonic's. To test his results, he built a flow bench so that he could see the spray patterns and measure the flow rates. Further experiment using ultrasonic's followed until Alan was able to get the injectors performing as if the were as good "AS NEW" (ASNU).

With the prototype ASNU, Alan started to solve problems on fuel-injected engines that other workshops and other equipment could not resolve. As word spread, Alan started to receive enquiries from other garages to build an ASNU system for them. With the assistance of a marketing genius, elder brother Mike, the Skovron brothers set about building and marketing the ASNU machine.

Market potential.
Realising the marketing potential of this equipment, they developed a worldwide marketing programme for ASNU. After securing Patents on the cleaning process Alan had developed, the brothers travelled the world demonstrating and presenting ASNU. It has been my pleasure to work with ASNU and the Skovron families since 1989 when I first met Mike and Alan and saw the ASNU in action. During this time, I have been fortunate enough to gain a vast amount of knowledge and expertise in the Petrol Injector Diagnostics market, from both Mike and, until his untimely death in 1997, the inventor of ASNU, Mike's brother Alan.

Mike and Alan had the foresight and the talent that has made ASNU what it is today, the market leader in Injector Diagnostics. We have developed ASNU's potential since taking the helm, the input by the Skovron brothers will always be remembered and respected, as long as there is ASNU.

Developing ASNU in Europe and the USA.
At the beginning of the 90’s, ASNU was introduced the Europe and the USA. Although the ASNU was well received on both sides of the Atlantic, the need for the machine was only of interest to real fuel injection specialist, as only about 15% of the vehicles in these markets were fuel injected, where as in Australia, they were about 70 – 80% injected. Various people, myself included, who saw the potential of ASNU, took the opportunity to get involved in the future, Fuel Injection, as was and still is, the biggest developing area in the petrol engine market.

Australia today. 2011
ASNU is still alive and well in Australasia and is now is in the very capable hands of Precision Automotive in Queensland. Precision Automotive are the only company authorised to represent ASNU in Australasia. Precision Automotive, have over 20 years of "hands on" knowledge and experience of ASNU, having been one of High Tech's original distributors for Queensland back in the 90's.

Based in Capalaba, Brisbane, Precision's M.D. Rod Wilkinson possibly sold one of the very first ASNU's in Queensland. Rod's son Brent is now managing the ASNU programme and together with his Technical & Service Team, gives ASNU an excellent blend of enthusiasm and experience required to support a fast developing fuel injection market. Precision Automotive can offer factory service and support for the very first and the very latest ASNU systems, they also have the Technical support of the ASNU worldwide network.

ASNU in Europe. 2006
In Europe, I started ASNU in the UK in 1990 and developed the European market from there. In 1991, I introduced the ASNU programme to Lucas in Europe. Lucas took a three-year option to distribute ASNU in Europe, this contract ended in 1997.

In 1998, ASNU received official worldwide approval from Robert Bosch GmbH for use in their Bosch Service Workshops. Bosch distributes ASNU in various countries.

ASNU in the USA. 2006
1990 and in the USA, Sam Jackson from ACE Electric, then part of the Echlin organisation, joined the ASNU programme, 16 years on, Sam is still successfully selling ASNU today and the most experienced ASNU distributor we have.

In 1993, Echlin introduced the ASNU programme to the rest of the Echlin organisation. Various versions of ASNU then appeared on the market, with a High Tech, ACE and Ram version’s available, Echlin International took ASNU in to Sth America and Asia. The Echlin group introduced ASNU to the NAPA organisation and Approved Service Workshops. In 1996 the Echlin group was dismantled and sold of in sections.

When the Echlin organization was broken up & sold off, Adam Witchie of Echlin International independently took control of the ASNU product line sales & marketing in Latin America & the Caribbean territories. Adam has been the catalyst and driving force of our success in many of these countries. Adam has been along our side since the introduction of ASNU in the late 1980's. His vast knowledge & experience in the automotive parts & service industry make him an industry leader and icon. We are proud to have him as member of our ASNU team.

My wife Lori and I have two children, Melissa and James, Melissa and her husband Tony have two beautiful children, Grace and Mason. Like most Grandparents, Lori and I adore our Grandchildren. Lori and I live in Bushey, Hertfordshire, UK, close to our office.

I have been in the Garage Equipment market for over 30 years, the last 16 of them exclusively with ASNU. I started with ASNU in 1990, initially looking after the UK. I then took on looking after various parts of Europe, then eventually Africa and the Middle East.

In 1992, I created the "Injector Service" programme rather than calling our programme "Injector Cleaning" as ASNU performed much more than just a cleaning programme. In 1995 we developed the "Injector Diagnostic Testing & Servicing Programme", a concept of using ASNU to diagnosing and solve the injector’s performance in relation to specific engine related problems. This concept programme was first launched through Lucas and has now been incorporated and accepted by some of the major equipment manufacturers and VM's from around the world.

This is where we are today.

I hope to meet even more as we grow our market.
